Sarah’s Sunshine Escape: A Half-Term Holiday to Remember

Join Sarah as she shares her recent family getaway to Corfu — from sun-soaked days to unforgettable memories at the Grecotel LuxMe Costa Botanica.

Hi, it’s Sarah!
I’ve just returned from an incredible holiday and wanted to share with you all what I experienced. From the moment we arrived to the day we left, it was full of special moments—and I think it’s one you’ll want to hear about!I

f you’re anything like me, finding the perfect family break over May half-term can feel like a mission. We wanted sunshine, great food, activities for our 7-year-old, and a little bit of luxury for us too – and I’m so glad to say Grecotel LuxMe Costa Botanica in Corfu delivered all of that and more.

We travelled out on 23rd May 2025, just in time for the Spring Bank Holiday, and spent a full week soaking up the sunshine, incredible food and the most beautiful surroundings.

👨‍👩‍👦 Space, Comfort & Location

We stayed in a Two-Bedroom Family Room with Garden View and Balcony, and honestly – the space was a dream. As a family of three, we had plenty of room to relax, and the central location meant everything was just a short walk away. Pools, restaurants, waterslides – all right on our doorstep, which made life so easy with a child in tow!

🍋 Little Touches That Made a Big Impression

We arrived quite late in the evening, and one of the first things we were greeted with was a glass of freshly made lemonade – such a thoughtful (and delicious) welcome.

I was honestly surprised by how beautiful the resort grounds are. Everything was in full bloom, and there are even homegrown fruits growing throughout the gardens. The attention to detail is everywhere – you can tell how much care has gone into this resort.

🍴 Food Glorious Food

We had hoped to try out the à la carte restaurants but couldn’t get booked in. At first, I’ll admit, I was a bit disappointed—but after just one meal at the main buffet, that completely disappeared. The food was incredible – fresh, varied, and beautifully presented.

There was even a daily gyros station, and if you fancied a wander, there’s a beach bar with an ice cream parlour serving Carte D'Or down by the sea. Safe to say our son was in heaven!

🎢 Fun for Everyone – Kids & Adults Alike

What makes Costa Botanica extra special is how well it caters to both kids and adults. There’s a waterpark onsite, a mini-zoo, children’s cooking classes, evening entertainment, yoga sessions, and watersports. Our little boy loved every second.

There was also waiter service by the beachside pool, which meant we could truly relax while keeping an eye on him having the time of his life.

🛍️ Local Charm Just Around the Corner

Another bonus? The resort is only a short stroll into Acharavi – a lovely little town with local shops, bars and restaurants. It was perfect for when we fancied a change of scenery without having to venture far.

🌟 Final Thoughts

Would we go back? In a heartbeat.
Grecotel LuxMe Costa Botanica is ideal if you’re a family who likes a bit of everything – from beach days and waterslides to yoga and strolls into town. The setting is beautiful, the service is fantastic, and it ticks all the boxes for a fun, easy, sunshine-filled family escape.

If you're thinking of booking a family break for next May, I couldn't recommend it more.

Let’s be honest, if you’re writing a blog about beaches in Barbados, you’re not going to struggle for options. There are more than 80 beaches across the island , and the good news is that Barbados’ beaches are public. So whether you’re staying at a luxury resort or a small guesthouse, you can enjoy the coastline. The thing is, not every beach is the same. Some are calm and made for swimming, some are better for watersports, and others are more about finding a rum punch, sitting back and watching the world go by. So rather than give you a huge list of every beach on the island, here are a few of our favourites depending on what you’re actually looking for.

When you think of the Caribbean, it's easy to picture powder-soft white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water and a cocktail in hand. And while all of that definitely exists, every Caribbean island has its own personality. One island packed to the brim with personality is St Lucia . It's one of the greener, more dramatic islands in the Caribbean, where lush rainforest meets beautiful beaches and towering volcanic peaks rise straight out of the sea. With around 180,000 people calling the island home, St Lucia manages to feel both welcoming and wonderfully unspoilt. If you're wondering what makes it so special, here are five reasons we keep recommending it.

We’re back with another USA blog as part of our FIFA World Cup 26 series. This week, while Las Vegas isn’t actually hosting any matches, we’re seeing plenty of fans adding it into their US trips — and it’s easy to see why. Las Vegas is one of those destinations that doesn’t really need an introduction, but we’ll give it one anyway. This is the city where an Eiffel Tower stands next to a pyramid. Where breakfast at 2pm is completely normal. Where you can watch world-class shows, take a gondola ride through Venice, stand beneath dancing fountains, and try your luck in a casino… all without leaving the Strip. It's loud. It's over the top. It's completely bonkers. And that's exactly why people love it. First things first, let’s get the stereotype out of the way. Yes, Las Vegas is known for hen dos, stag parties and group weekend getaways. But Vegas isn’t selective — it really does have something for everyone. Whether you’re planning the ultimate hen party, a family trip, a couples getaway, or even a solo adventure, Las Vegas works in more ways than people expect. So with that in mind, here are our must-do experiences for your first visit.

Ready for your latest USA instalment as part of our FIFA World Cup 26 series? This week we’re heading to one of the most iconic cities in the world as England prepare to take on Panama on 27th June. Of course, we’re talking about New York City. New York doesn’t really need an introduction. Even if you’ve never been, you already know it — you’ve seen it in films, on TV, in adverts, and probably scrolling Instagram at 2am when you start planning trips you haven’t actually booked yet. Times Square, Central Park, the Statue of Liberty, Broadway, yellow taxis everywhere… it’s one of those cities that feels familiar before you even arrive. But here’s the question we get asked all the time as travel agents: "When is the best time to visit New York?" And honestly? It's a difficult one to answer. Summer in New York is absolutely unreal. Rooftop bars packed, outdoor events everywhere, Central Park in full swing, street performers, long evenings where you lose track of time just wandering around. But then winter rolls in… And suddenly New York turns into something else entirely. It’s the New York you've seen in the films. Christmas lights everywhere. Ice skating in Central Park. Markets in Bryant Park. Fifth Avenue looking like a film set. It’s very “Home Alone 2 energy” if we’re being honest. So rather than picking a winner, we've decided to do something a little different. We've put together two perfect three-day itineraries – one for a summer visit and one for a winter city break. Same New York. Completely different vibe.

If you’ve been to Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites Hotel before, you’ll already know how special it is. And if it’s been on your list for a while, now might be the perfect time to go. The hotel officially reopened on 2nd May 2026 after a six-month refurbishment, and one of our team (Carly from head office) was lucky enough to spend a week there straight after reopening to see what’s changed. It’s always really important that our agents know hotels inside and out, so that you can trust they know what they are talking about when they make recommendations for your holiday.

We're back with another USA blog ahead of England playing Ghana on 23rd June during FIFA World Cup 26. This time we're heading over to one of America's most historic cities... … … Boston. (Did you get the right answer?).

We’re back with another USA blog ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, and this time we’re diving into the legend that is Dallas. Dallas is known for iconic Texas BBQ, high-end shopping, cowboy culture, and the historic assassination site of John F. Kennedy. But most importantly… SPORTS. And, with England taking on Croatia on the 17th June, there’s no better time to talk about one of America’s true sports cities.
