Holidays to the Fuerteventura
The busiest resort on Fuerteventura is Corralejo on the north coast. With a town beach right next to the bustling harbour, and streets filled with shops, bars and restaurants. Just outside the resort are the protected sand dunes, and a much larger secluded beach. Further east is the popular family-friendly and much quieter beach resort of Caleta de Fuste.
The best beaches on Fuerteventura can be found in the south, in the Jandia peninsula, a nature reserve where a 20km stretch of white sand is flanked by sand dunes. Much more suited to couples, the resorts of the south, Costa Calma and Morro Jable, offer an unhurried pace of life, and an endless array of unspoilt beaches to relax on.
Although Fuerteventura attracts those in search of a slow pace and idyllic beaches to unwind on, the island especially along the east coast, is one of the best places in the world for windsurfing, playing host to the World Windsurfing Championships every year.
